Introduction

Hey there! 👋

I'm Glory Janet Abolaji fondly called Jane, a UX designer currently based in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.

Right now, I'm creating user-friendly experiences at Nextpax, a travel property distribution platform where I design intuitive features that help over 100,000 property and vacation home owners connect with travelers worldwide.

My Journey Here Wasn't Exactly Linear...

Before product design, I spent 5+ years as a social media marketing and customer service representative. I was that person helping small businesses find their voice online, creating engaging content, and yes – fielding customer complaints at 2 AM. During this time, I was also running my own fashion line because, well, why not juggle a few more balls, right? 😅

These experiences taught me something invaluable that i bring to my design approach: design isn't just about making things pretty, It's about understanding people – their frustrations, their joy when something just works, and those little moments when good design makes people's day easier and Its incredibly satisfying for me, knowing my design decisions impact real people's experiences!

What Gets Me Excited About Design

I'm genuinely passionate about solving problems, and design gives me an endless possibilities to do just that!

You know that quote "Design is not just what it looks and feels like. Design is how it works"? That's my favourite! Every pixel, interaction, color choice and even button placement should serve a purpose and tell a story- not just for vibes!

Over the past 5+ years in product design, I have created solutions now used by thousands of people and one thing i will say is each project i have been involved in has taught me something new about the human behavior and yeah, exactly why I love what I do.

A Bit More About Me

I'm proudly Nigerian 🇳🇬, born and raised in Nigerians biggest city -Lagos, but now, i live in the Netherlands with my family. The cultural shift has given me fresh perspectives on how different people interact with digital products.

When I'm not deep in Figma or debating button placement, you'll find me volunteering for causes that helps indigent kids and single mothers, reading a good African fictional book, cooking my favorite meal- Jollof rice with some juicy chicken (ask me for a plate and see for yourself why its my favorite) or exploring new cities, i also love me some alone time to relax.

Let's Connect!

I'm always excited to chat about design, stock investments, or just connect. Feel free to reach out – I promise I'm much more fun than this bio makes me sound! 😉
